NEMO Gives, in partnership with TruBuilder
In working with TruExodus (Baret Fawbush) as a firearm influencer for several years, NEMO Arms was honored to be part of an outreach project called the Trubuilder Adjumani Water Well Project. The goal of the project was to improve the efficiency of an existing water well for an orphanage of 370 children. The orphaned children range from infancy to 15 years old. While they all have a variety of stories, these children were victims to one of the wars perpetuated by Joseph Kony in 2012 that took place in South Sudan/North Uganda. The orphanage is led by Pastor Fred Dima and the 30 people of “Surpassing Grace Foundation.”
Because of COVID restrictions, the foundation was forced to separate the children into five temporary camps (2021-present) all over the region. The commute has caused logistic issues and increased spending. Since 2022, plans were made to secure a property that would serve as the primary location for the children to live. The 29 acre “farm” is allowing for rapid development of the children’s dormitories, as well as agricultural and animal projects. The “farm” has been designed to blend local cultural practices with modern technology in efforts to yield a produce that significantly reduces the $135,000 annual food bill.
When Baret told NEMO that Trubuilder was short funds to make the well improvements, we were honored to be able to provide assistance to make the project successful. With an unstable power grid, the new solar option is much more efficient than hand pumping and allows enough water for the children, animals and other agricultural projects to thrive that otherwise wouldn’t. “NEMO’s charity towards this project has allowed a 30,000 liter water capacity from which the farm can operate day to day, reliably.” said Baret.
